I truly believe that making the decision to seek therapy is a difficult one, a step that I myself was very hesitant to take. Even though the struggle was real, the journey through the process was probably the best one I have ever experienced. My hope for our therapy sessions is to provide an open and collaborative space for us to work together and help you get closer to your therapeutic goals. The sessions will serve as a space for self-exploration, processing emotions, and indulging in thoughtful reflection to gain clarity and work through the client’s internal processes.

Amna Waqar Chaudhry

M.A. in Applied Psychology - Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness | New York University | Fulbright Scholar

Works with Ages 18 and Above.

Having struggled with the decision to seek therapy myself, I understand that it takes courage to acknowledge and take action towards bettering one’s mental health. I congratulate you on taking this first step. I view therapy as an opportunity to understand oneself, as a form of self-care, and a well-deserved time dedicated to just one’s own needs. Therefore, my therapy style is collaborative: we will work together in setting goals and working towards them. I want to create a supportive environment for us to engage in an open and honest dialogue, which will form the basis of our work together.

Works with children (age 2+), Adolescences, Young adults, and Parents

Considering I work with a vast range of clients, from children to young adults as well as parents, I focus on providing therapy tailored to my clients’ needs. For children, I actively create a safe yet fun space for them while I teach them social, behavior and emotion regulation skills. I work with adolescence and young adults struggling with academic anxiety and lack of motivation. For parents, I strive to build a collaborative relationship to facilitate them in navigating their parental hurdles and together, we work towards the betterment of their children.

Therapy can be daunting and uncomfortable, yet rewarding, all at the same time. It can provide awareness and insight into your relationship with yourself and others, the defense mechanisms you have made use of over the years, and your needs. Our relationship in therapy will be directed by your particular needs and will vary from other clients. Often it can be healing to simply feel heard and understood therefore I like to create an environment that is trusting, authentic and safe.
